Ski holiday Bad Gastein
As one of Europe’s most famous ski destinations, Bad Gastein is located in Austria's largest national park with amazing views of the Grossglockner (Austria's highest mountain at 3798m). The area is renowned for its fantastic skiing, numerous shops, restaurants and bars, as well as lively après ski. If you are not just there for skiing, the city is famous for its hot springs and many spa facilities. One of the most famous is Felsentherme with a 36 degree heated outdoor pool with waterfalls, slides and a sauna. All the water comes directly from the hot springs and is changed every day so chlorine is not necessary, making the various spa facilities environmentally friendly.
Bad Gastein is the largest resort in the Gastein Ski Area with access to 178 individual pistes. The area ranges from 1,100 to 2.700 metres above sea level making it one of Europe's largest vertical drops. In addition to over 200 km of pisted runs in Bad Gastein itself the full area lift pass will allow you to ski or snowboard in the other Gastein ski resorts of Bad Hofgastein, Dorfgastein, Graukogel and Sportgastein.
