As one of Europe’s most famous ski destinations, Bad Gastein is located in Austria's largest national park with amazing views of the Grossglockner (Austria's highest mountain at 3798m). If you are not just there for skiing, the city is famous for its hot springs and many spa facilities. One of the most famous is Felsentherme with a 36 degree heated outdoor pool with waterfalls, slides and a sauna. All the water comes directly from the hot springs and is changed every day so chlorine is not necessary, making the various spa facilities environmentally friendly.
